Potatoe from Scratch

So  being a foreigner in the States is a lot of fun!! Americans do so many things differently that we do in Denmark. For en example let's talk about potatoes.
Just the other night I told my hostfamily I would like to cook them a Danish meal for dinner and so I did. Meat patties with onions. You see, that dish takes potatoes, so I bought potatoes - actual real potatoes.
I peeled them, and cooked them, and we sat down to eat. My hostparents were amazed how good those potatoes were, and I told them that it was just regular potatoes, they looked at me with a very funny look. It seemed to stun them that I wanted to take the time to both peel them, and to cook them in a pot.

It turned out, that when ever my hostfamily eats potatoes, they're made from powder directly from a box.
Just another one of those many differences between America and Denmark.
