Let's back up a little. For a weeks now people have been talking about Valentines day, posting about it on facebook, wondering what to get for their loved ones. At first I didn't really get it, Valentines is not really a thing in Denmark. Sure it's cute, a day to celebrate love, but shouldn't we really be doing that every day?
Anyway, it's a little more than that in Maine.
Downtown "someone" hangs up heart everywhere -pictures will follow-, you'll see several selfs of red and pink, just candy and hearts and teddy bears and fake flowers, and I could go on and on!
They wished us happy Valentines day on the morning announcements, and in every class we had. We read a Valentines day poem in English and the there were a lot of references to love and Skt. Valentine in Human Geo. Just to a point where it was a little to much pink and sugar.
Then I went to West Bath, and Kathleen wished me happy Tuesday, and we went on a little "road trip" - to Brunswick and back - and then I played the piano a bit, and we talked, and then she dropped me off at Gagas house.
Gaga had invited the hole family over for Valentines dinner. That's where Kirsti and Dan's comments come in, cause here's what the Huotari family do, they give each other presents. The coffee table in the ''Squirrel room'' was filled with presents and cards. This was quite funny! Mari got the boys glowing sticks with firetrucks on top, and Gaga got Dan and Buba matching sweaters, so they could be ''boobie-friends'' -what ever that means?
Then we had chili and stuffed mushrooms, and kiss-cakes for desert.
It was a pretty awesome February Tuesday!
Sounds like a really awesome and cute valentines day <3 Miss you!!
