I have had a GREAT Memorial Day weekend.
Friday I went with the Varisty team to one of their games. Saturday Dan, Mari, the boys and I sailed to Squirrel on their boat. We took our time, went all over the place, saw seals, and got stopped by the coast guard. We spent most of the time on Squirrel at the beach, it was great!
Sunday the sailed me back home, and I had the house to myself for a night.
Monday morning Kathleen and Derek picked me up for my Christmas present. We were going to a Red Sox Game. They were playing the Detroit Tigers. I had been looking forward to this since December.
Anyway, they picked me up and we drove down to Boston, parked the car and started walking around. There were people every where, most of them wearing Red Sox shirts and caps. We went to the Souvenir store, and it was huge!
We walked around the stadium and stopped at the back to look for players driving in. We saw someone Rice, and a new guy.

Then we went to a restaurant and had fries with cheese and gravy, and for desert...a fried twinkie. -If you're a Dane and have no idea what that is, don't worry, you're not missing out on anything. Twinkies just went out of business, and just because they're fried doesn't exactly help.
But it was an American experience, and I guess now I can cross that of my bucket list.
So after the Twinkie we went into the Stadium, which is a relatively small one. We found our seats, and before long, the National Anthem were playing, the Veterans were being honored -because it was Memorial Day- and the game started.
It was so much fun! David Ortiz hit a home run in the first inning, my first live home run. And during the rest of the game something was going on all the time. A coach for the Tigers got sent out, they sang Take Me Out To The Ball Game and Sweet Caroline. Yellow guys walked around and sold lemonade and peanuts and foam fingers, just like they do on the movies. It was all so American. And of cause the Red Sox won 7-4.
It was an awesome time!
