I am proud to say that I am now Morse Shipbuilder Graduate, Class of 2012!
Sunday was my graduation day. I got up, did my hair, got dressed, decided against the dress that I had put on, borrowed one of Mari's dresses instead, and then put on my cap and gown. We got on the porch, and first with the boys and afterwards with Mari I took a few pictures. Then Niesa came to watch the boys and Dan, Mari and I went to the football fields, where graduation was hold.
We were lucky enough with the weather this year, that it could be outside. The sun was shining, it was 75+ degrees, and there was a breeze, so it was just perfect.
We were all to meet 45 minutes before the ceremony started, and we got lined up and then stood and waited. The risers filled with people, the Morse High Band arrived, the teachers lined up, and Pomp and Circumstances started played. We all started marching down through the two lines of teachers, and into our seats. The ones that were in the Chorus had to sing the Anthem, so we walked over to the microphone. Ones everyone was by their seats, Brianna Bigelow introduced us, and we started singing. Then we went back to our seats, and everyone sat down. There were six speakers among the Students. Brianna Bigelow, Leigh Matthews, Lauren Crosby, Hannah Leeman, Kerry Cummings, and Max Rawson - I realize you may not know who all of these people are, it's more a reminder for me -. All did a really good job! Talking about our future and our time at Morse.
After the students had all spoken, a teacher was awarded for being the Teacher of the year, and then Principal Kahl got up, said a few things and started handing out diplomas. Everyone was called up, got their diploma shook hands with three men and then sat down again. When everyone was back down, Mr. Kahl introduces us as Morse Graduate class of 2012, and we threw our caps in the air.
Then we all marched out and meet with family and friends, and took a lot of Pictures!
That took about an hour I think, and then most of the students gathered at the Middle School, we were going on Project Grad. We first got sniffed by a drug dog, and when everybody was clear, we were let on the buses, got sandwiches, and water, and drove to New Hampshire. We were starting our trip in Kahuna Laguna -Or something like that -, which was an indoor waterpark. It had slides and waves and a hot tub, and we were there for three hours or so - a little longer that I needed! -. Then we drove to a resort, got our keys, and went to our rooms. I shared a room with Dori, Zhou, Brianna, Maddi and Lyle. Not that we spend much time in our own room. Everybody ran from room to room to see each other. But 1 o'clock Zhou and I went back, she fell asleep, and I sat down to watch the Red Sox Game. Brianna came by, and I went with her down to the arcade. By 2.30 or so I turned in, watched the end of the game, and tryed to fall asleep, it took an hour.
The next day we were woken up by 7.00, had breakfast and then drove to a White Water Rafting place. It was so much fun. First we did a few rounds in 6 person boats, and then we got kayaks and did it by our self. Ones we were soaked and done, we changed and drove back home.
It was a great Graduation!
