Last Day Of School and Marching Practice

And so I had my last day of school. Tuesday that was. We were supposed to have Senior Assembly, but because of Senior prank - I'll get back to that -, it was postponed to Friday. So the last day really was just a lazy school day. On Monday we'd had our last Blue day, which included Kareoke in Chorus and concert practice in Band. On Tuesday We had a friendly competition in Mr. Madden's class - that's geography -, I won a shared first place the first round. English and Holocaust was all rounded up already, and in Music Theory the teacher was expecting an assembly, so we just watched West Side Story. Now back to the Senior prank. Apparently this is a thing that Seniors do every year. One year they filled the halls and classrooms at school with balloons, one year they put a boat in the gym, this year they took every single chair in the school, and put it in the put, so that it spelled 2012, and then they put the rest of them in the gym. When teachers and students arrived on Monday there were no chairs in any classroom or office. I thought this to be pretty funny, they even marked all the chairs, so that they got back to their original classroom. The Principal and the administers how ever, did not agree with me and many other students and teachers. And it meant that the Seniors were threatened  with  no Senior Assembly, no marching for the ones who participated in the prank, and that the Senior President wouldn't be aloud to speak at Graduation. Thank god for Brianna Bigelow, the class president, who said she took full responsibility for the prank, and would take her punishment as long as everybody else got to march and go to Senior Assembly. It was amazing to me, not only to see Brianna step up for her classmates like that, but also the rest of the school, and fighting for the Seniors rights. Luckily it all worked out, so they moved the Assembly and made the participant do Community Service, and that was it. Should I mention it was the Principal's birthday.

After school, I got on the bus and went to West Bath. Kathleen and I caught up, I played the piano for her, and then we all went to Miyakes - sushi - in Portland. It was really good and a lot of fun!

Wednesday I got up and went to Marching practice at the Middle School Gym. All the graduating seniors were there, we got up in order - I marched with Zhou -, and learned both the inside and outside routine. Then we all got our caps and gowns. The girls were to wear White ones and the boys blue.

Thursday it was the same deal, but only three hours. Practicing both routines, and getting some informations.
After practice Zhou and I played tennis for about two hours, and then went and got lunch downtown.

Friday was the very last day of practice. It only took and hour, and then ones again, Zhou and I went downtown. First we went to a few stores, we went and got lunch, and then we went to the school to the Senior assembly. That was fun! There was the usual assembly stuff, student of the quarter, handing out of gift cards, and mentioning of sports things.
Then there was a Senior slide show made by Brianna and Lauren, and Mr. Paquette shaved his beard of because one of the Baseball players hit five home runs this season.

After the assembly we all got our yearbooks, and there was a yearbook signing party in front of the school. It lasted for nearly three hours.
Later that night the rockband had a concert. We were supposed to play in the library park, but got rained out, so we moved it to the Montgomery Theater.
The hole family came to see me, which was awesome, and in the end a bunch of kids came on stage, and so did Alden and Gavin.

Saturday I was kept busy packing for Project Graduation and Squirrel Island, we went on a boat ride, we had lunch at Maxwells. Dan and Mari got me the most beautiful watch as my Graduation Present. It's half gold, half silver, so pretty!
At night there was the Morse High Alumni dinner, which is an annual event for all previous students at Morse. All the five year graduates are invited plus all the 40+ or something like that. All the classes give money to the Alumni association, which is used to scholarships and things at the school. It's the biggest alumni in The U.S. it was a lot of fun seeing all of these former students - the oldest one there graduation in 1932 - and from now on, every five year, I can come back and attend the dinner.
